Days of our Lives: Two Weeks

Wow! I can hardly believe it's been two weeks already. This little guy has changed in so many ways, and yet in so many ways he's still the same. Sometimes I have to remind myself that he is only 2 weeks old! His neck is getting stronger, he's holding his head up for a few seconds at a time. Mom and Pa came down for 7 days and it was so nice! She took care of laundry, cleaning, cooking and dishes. Pa made good use of our recliner, and loved holding Bentley. He even babysat a few times when we had to run out for errands. It was hard to see them go ~ I felt so vulnerable; my 'security' was leaving. Then I remembered that my Heavenly Father was just as good a parent as any, and He would give me the wisdom I needed in caring for His little one.

Bentley has taught me alot about the love of my Heavenly Father! I can't take my eyes off Bentley and my ears are tuned in to the slightest whimper that he makes. I may not always rush over to pick him up when he cries, but I know he is crying, I'm watching him and very aware of what is going on. I'm reminded of my Heavenly Father, His eyes are upon those who fear him and His ears are open to their cry. Sometimes it seems like He isn't there; I'm not aware of his presence, but I can rest knowing that just as surely as I'm aware of Bentley, my Father is even more so aware of every thing about me.
