Wow! What a busy, crazy, funfilled month this has been. March has been filled with trips to SeaWorld, visits from friends and family, babysitting, Magic games, picking up at Cracker Barrel, Festival of Speed show, Old Town = FUN!
Tony and I were given tickets to a Magic basketball game. It was a neat experience, getting to be in the new AMWAY arena, hearing the squeak of shoes on the court and the swish of the basket (ok, I couldn't actually hear it, but I saw it :)), eating good but pricy stadium food, sitting in (comfy) stadium seats cheering for both teams....I started cheering for the underdogs (Chicago Bulls) but then it seemed like they weren't even trying, so I switched to cheering for the Magic...but the Bulls won anyway. I've determined there is not sense in going to an entire game, as the 4th quarter is the only one worth watching.
I began babysitting my friends baby, who is about a month younger than Bentley. It has been like having twins....those moms of twins~ I salute you! I don't know how you get anything done! But it has been fun. I met Jeannine when I worked at Westgate Resorts. Her husband has been commuting to GA every week for about 2 years. He was finally extended the transfer he has been requesting, so Jim, Jeannine and Jameson will be moving to NY in a couple weeks. This is our last week with him.
I will miss their friendship, but thankful God has provided for them to be together.
Tony had the experience of a lifetime this month~ he got to ride and DRIVE a Ferrari, a Maseratti, and a Tesla. He heard of an exotic car show about 45 min away so he bought the tickets for us to go, but then heard that they would be doing a ride and drive or somthing like that the day before the show....he wanted to go 'hear' the cars and get pictures of them in motion ~it's a guy thing~ when he got there, entry was free, so he walked in and started taking pics and talking to the guys, lo and behold they were doing a ride and drive where HE could 'ride' and 'drive'. Needless to say he was stokked!!! In April he is going to a Ferrari track race (for free!!)~ I would love to go but have to babysit :(, I'm sure I'll hear all about it!
But, the car show was cool and he got some really cool pics of the 'art on wheels'.
Mom, Dad and Michael Sechrest came down for a week. Unfortuantely their visit did not coinside with Tony's furlough week, but we made the evenings memorable! It was nice to have Bonnie to help out with the boys and Dad and Mike got Tony's Nissan running (now the Mercedes is in the shop :( ). We enjoyed a day as SeaWorld with them, and our friend was able to get them into Disney. She spent the day with them, so they covered alot of ground in one day. Micheal and Dad are professional photographers (Dad did our wedding pics) so we got some Easter pic of Bentley. They took us out to Cheesecake Factory, Golden Corral, Cracker Barrel, eats at SeaWorld, needless to say, we ate our way through their vacation :) Thanks, Mom and Dad! It was very nice to not have to cook!
On Bentley, he has grown so much in so many ways this month! It seems like each day is an exciting new adventure with him. He's started rolling a bit, talking, smiling, and just really show his sweet and at time mischevious self. He's wakes up happy with energy to last about....two hours, then he's down for a morning nap. He loves it when Daddy comes home. He sits there and tells Daddy all about his day! He is so expressive~ we love it! He's been to more car shows in his short life than I went to before I got married~ of course, I was at more airplane shows than most :)
Our church is doing a LOVE ORLANDO project and the project last weekend was to deliver a food box to a need family. Second Harvest, a local food bank, provided food for 'Families in Transition' ~those who have been uprooted from their homes due to economic crisis, these children depend on school breakfast and lunches and with Spring Break here, that nourishment was not available to them. This box of food fed them for the week. Anyway all that to say Tony and I purchased a GPS on the spur of the moment to help us locate the family (we did not have a cell phone with us to call ~ GPS story coming later)~amazing, those things are~ so back to the family. We arrived at a rundown, but clean home and were greeted by a little boy and his grandmother. They were of course happy to recieve the food, but here is another lesson my son taught me. As adults, we become hard...whether we want to admit it or not. Had I met the grandmother on the street, I wouldn't have smiled at her. I would have judged her by her unkempt appearance, averted my eyes and kept moving. (No, I'm not proud of that, but working on it). Circumstances dictated that we do all the appropriate things a christian does when delivering food in the name of Jesus ~and I felt my heart was sincere~ then I looked at my son. He didn't know why we were there. All he knew was there was someone there who was talking to him. He gave her a winning smile. Babies don't judge- they smile. Abba, help me to smile~ :) :O) :*) You never know when it will make someone's day.
This has been a long post, to catch you up on March. I hope you've enjoyed it and I hope you enjoy the pictures below. The GPS story will come next month, as technically that took place in April, and this post is getting really long :).
Love to all!
Oh~ and my brainstorm of the Month~ Threads of Three~ Faith, Hope and Love. But I will tell you about that next month as once again...the post.....
